Abyssal Zone

An urn with high reliefs surrounding the entire vessel. It depicts oniric sights of the deep sea, with mermaids and colossal sea creatures. The lid represents the mermaid’s tail. It was painted in shades of blue combined with the mermaid’s rose-coloured bodies. The inside of the vessel is painted in a beautiful steel blue.

Made out of albino refractory clay with light chamotte, and sandstone high reliefs.

Heated at 1250 °C

Enamels used: of my own formula, with natural and commercial oxides.

Piece size: less tan 27 cm.
